We strive to be an open and inclusive organization supporting diversity in age, race, ethnicity, language, physical and mental abilities, sexual orientation and gender identity. We are committed to centering diverse voices and needs in our work: pertaining to environmental and social justice; practicing responsible land stewardship; offering environmental education; investing in the well-being of our communities; and promoting and practicing environmental restoration, conservation, and preservation.
We are always looking for hard working folks who are committed to our mission, and reflect the diversity of the communities we serve, to join us. Ideal candidates will have a passion for environmental and social justice issues and the drive to do something about them. While these are largely remote positions, we particularly seek candidates located in or near the Hudson Valley or New York City, as we participate in several events and initiatives in the region throughout the year. If you feel that you fit this description, please consider applying for one of the following positions:
Interns and Volunteers: We seek interns and volunteers to assist with our projects, initiatives, community outreach efforts, and research operations. Within the scope of our work, we tailor internship experiences to individual student's' professional and personal interests. Generally, internships involve 10 hours of work per week, but this may fluctuate slightly based upon school policy and our fluctuating workload during our busy and less busy seasons. We arrange with participating university and college career centers to ensure that interns receive pay for their time and effort. Depending upon school policy, interns may also receive academic credit. Volunteers, whether they are students or not, are very welcome to volunteer for us as well, in whatever capacity, and for whatever length of time, fits with their schedules and our work.
Board Members: We also seek candidates interested in serving on our board of directors. Our board members serve for a minimum of two years, participate in monthly virtual board meetings, are committed to addressing environmental and social justice issues, contribute necessary expertise to our growing organization, and are interested in nonprofit management and operations.
If you are interested in a position with us, feel free to send us a message below letting us know which position you are interested in, what interests you about it, a bit about your related experience, and how we can best contact you. We will be happy to answer any questions you have.
